Default Advice on 06 SE Fat Boy

The wife is interested in a 06 Screamin Eagle Fat Boy. She has been on Harley's for 10 years so no problem with riding it and the longest trips are likely only 200 miles a day. Since we have never looked at the Screamin Eagles does anyone have any input on this model good or bad. It only has 4000 miles, is being sold by a very reputable local dealer who sold the bike new so I would not have any concerns with trusting the dealer. I also have the original owners name but have not called him yet.

I have one and it is the most fun to ride bike out of my three Harleys. The 200 rear tire and the bigger 140 front make this bike what it is. Just don't pay too much or you would be better off with a 2007 Fatboy.

Forgot to tell you that the seat is terrible. There are places that can fix them to where they are rideable.

The dealer is asking $18900. which I think is in the ball park. I agree the seat did not look the most comfy and she may wish to look for a better one or add padding.

Here is a link to a site that I found that shows all of the specs

I have never ridden a 2006, but I also have not heard of anything bad about them (unlike the 2007 with the dreaded oil leak). The 2006 had the stroked 103 inch, where as the 2007 has the new 110 inch.

Get it. Sounds like a pretty nice bike for the lady.

I don't know about the price but if the wife wants it, get it. A happy wife makes for a happy life. Besides, that is a sweet bike and she might let you ride it. Check with the SE CVO forum.

It has just basically been broken in, a brand new bike. I say go for it, nice bike and a 103" motor to boot. GOOD LUCK!!!
