How young did you start your kids riding?

No kids for me but my dad bought me my first dirt bike when I was 9.
I bought my first street bike on my own when I turned 18 and could get credit to buy it.
I think if your kids are interested, start them at about 5 with their own little bike.
I used to ride on back of my dads when I was 5, he started out putting me in front of him, but was pulled over and cops told him that was not legal. But it was legal for me at 5 years old to ride on the back and hang on to my dad. My mom would also take me on the back of her bike.
Hey 7125, my dad had a brand new 64 Impala with a 409. I can remember him taking it to the drag races. He had a 500 pound piece of iron in the trunk (for traction) and when he dropped the clutch, the front end would come off the ground. I can remember many trophys he had won. I think even my mom raced it a few times and had a couple of trophys. All those late night hours helping him in the garage. Dang, great memories.

Got my boy a Honda 50 when he was 5 or 6. Had him on a nice wide, gently sloping, no curves, dirt road. We started out very slow, basically coasting. As we picked up speed I told him to brake. He was frozen. I said it a little louder, "brake!" I yelled it, "friggin' brake!" He's got one of these goin'. He goes off the road, down into the shallow ditch, up the hill, and runs smack into a tree. When his front tire hit the tree, (dead center), he hung onto the bars, flew up and hit the tree with the top of his helmet, fell over like the guy on the trike on Laugh In and tumbled back down the hill. It was hillarious!, (as soon as I realized he wasn't hurt).
He started out on flat ground. I recomend keeping them there for a looonng time.
