Should I work or go for a ride?

I've pretty much stopped being involved in the threads on this forum but that's the Dumbest question I think I've ever seen and I feel compelled to respond. NOTHING BUT NOTHING outside of a family emergency....takes priority over going for a ride.

We were slow for awhile last summer and I had been off for a week or so. The boss called one afternoon and said he would like me to come to the shop in the morning to discuss a project we were going to start I told him no problm, I would ride over. I was a little late getting there, as my daughter in TX called and wanted some advice, I apologized, but the first words out of the bosses mouth were, "i guess since you rode your bike, you weren't planning on working?" I said, well "i told you I was going to "ride" over, besides you said we were going to discuss the job" Then he said, "Would you rather ride your bike all summer, or work for this company?" I guess when I started laughing he got the message. In your case, your neighbor will understand. Take the ride.

Hey Guy I am retired and now do contracting, sso I can really appreciate your dilemma. What I do is tell the clients right up front that if it is a nice day I may not be at work, I'll be on the bike. If they have a problem I don't work for them, but there is such a demand for this line of work I have yet to walk away from a job.
Right now they rarly ask " How Much" but allways ask " When can you start"
Ride when you can----- work when you want.

It's been a long winter, if you have a day to ride, TAKE IT! You can always help the neighbor... You can't ALWAYS ride... Easy choice for me....
