Preride inspection poll
As a new harley rider, trying to get as much education as possible, I actually READ my service manual last night. Harley says to check:
-oil level
-brake pads/disks
-tire pressure/wear
-rear belt deflection
what does everyone check preride?? not for outa state road trips, just rides?

I'll keep an eye on the oil, tires, and such on a regular basis, but not every day. Here's what I do for my every day ride. Make sure the clutch works and snaps back. Make sure the throttle snaps back when released. Pull the clutch back in and start it up. Make sure each blinker works. Make sure the front and rear brake work and disengage when released and the brake light works. Turn the front wheel through its full range of motion, left and right. By the time I back out of my spot, the bike has been running about 20 to 30 seconds, so then I put it in gear and go.

a new (to me bike) damn right I'm checking things... after a while you begin to know what needs to be checked and when....
I probably do a full T-CLOCS once every 2 months, but I'm always "looking" temp changes will cause tire pressures to change, so I'll pump them up if we get a cold snap. Maybe check the oil once a week ( I ride daily) but I haven't lost a drop in the past 33k miles.
Wife doesn't ride her bike THAT often, so I've gotten to where I hop on hers and run it 50 or so miles each week... on HER bike, because it sits... I do a FULL T-Clocs each time

I ride almost every day to work.I check the oil and tires every 2-3 weeks.
Because I ride often, I know if there are any problems.
If I was to go on a long ride,I would check everything.

Last month I pulled into a local gas place & a fellow biker said, your front tire looks low. I got off & looked at it & did think it might be a LITTLE low. He had a pressure gauge with hime & checked it, 12 POUNDS! I could'nt believe it. Goes to show you can't tell by just looking at it & I did'nt notice it handling adversely. There was no leak, just had'nt check either tire in a LONG time, but sure check 'em often now.

I usually will wipe mine down between rides, so that's when I do my checkin.
I keep an eye on the tire pressure, oil, and look for any loose bolts

I generally check the brakes when I come to the first stop sign. Seriously though, I check the oil every day, check tire pressure at least once a week, check the brake pads, clutch, cables, fluid levels, and tires when I do my 3K service
