Default warranty and upgrades

Im new here and there for I have a bunch of questions. This is my first Harley and I ordered it last Friday. Im wanting to do some upgrades such as exhaust and air cleaner. That will probably be all to the engine at this point. I plan on either going with a drag pipe with optional baffles and using a hypercharger. I was wondering how this will effect the factory warranty. I plan on having Harley re program my computer if possible. If not maybe going with a PC III or something. But I was also planning on putting pipes and cleaner on myself. I wasnt sure what stipulations there are about doing mods to your bike during the warranty period. Or, if you have to use Harley parts only and have them put on at the dealer. Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks from a Newbie Rick

GENERALY- as long as something that you did had no effect on the problem you SHOULD be OK. A lot of us do our own maintenance ( oil changes/minor adjustments etc.) Some can do it all. If you are buying a new bike I think that you may want to let the dealer install your A/C and pipes because you will need to tune the motor to run right with the free flowing add ons. (so get ready $$) Welcome to the family. Enjoy the ride.[8D]

Since we are asking questions. I like the look of the hypercharger, but does it really help with performance at all?

I don't belive they do. I rented a softtail a couple of years ago when we went out west. The bike had a hypercharge on it. The dmmn thing rattled to the point of annoyance.. I think there are allot better choices to be made for an intake... JMHO al

I had one on an 80" evo I had. I ran it wit and without and could not trll any difference. I believe that they do exactly what they are endended to do - make money for the manufacturer and the retailer. Other than that it's just bling. JMHO
