Default Warranty question

I searched the various threads on warranty and did not find an answer to my question.I bought an 04 ultra.pefect condition. But 70,000 miles on it.Oil pressure 35-40,runs perfect.i bought a 4 year warranty for about 1500 dollars.I thought if the motor blew up the warranty would fix it.if the brake rotor broke, it would fix it.etc etc.I dont know if i got anything in writing describing what the warranty meant or would cover.i am thinking if it doesnt cover major breakdown issues, then i might as well tell them to cancel it, but the MOCO finance company probably wouldnt let me since it is financed through them, right? I am just a rider, i dont know this stuff. Thanks for any answer.

Don't you have contracts? If you bought a warranty the dealer that sold it to you will have a copy of the contract and what the warranty will and won't cover. Go back and ask for it. It can be cancelled and the payments will be reduced accordingly.

I agree, the details of the extended policy are required to be disclosed when you sign. The policy should have all what is covered and not covered spelled out. e. g. does not cover gaskets/seals, wearable items such as break pads, tires, clutch etc. You may or may not have a grace period for cancellation. I would check ASAP, if you do it may be a short period of time in which to cancel if you choose to do that. I can tell you this, that's a boat load of $$$ to pay for an extended warranty that may not cover everything on that bike. This is why you needed the policy. You really should have read that closely in order to determine weather it was worth the $$$. There are a lot of exclusions on those policies.

Payments will NOT be reduced. BUT you will get a refund of the unused portion, probably pro-rated.

You can simply tell the dealer that you wish to cancel it.

As for coverage, if something major goes wrong, 50.00 gets it fixed...the coverage is good, we have used it on the wifes bike twice now, both times would ahve cost me more than 400.00 to get the work done on the road, while on a trip.

If you cancel within 30 days, you get 100% refund. If you paid for the policy in the financing, you do not get a refund, the principal on the loan is reduced. Your policy may be different, read it.

A bike with 70K miles I'd for sure keep it. It will cover major issues.

The warranty does cover major issues, there is a pamphlet that tells you what it covers. In fact, when I had a problem with my bike and the dealer told me it wasn't cover, I pulled out the pamphlet and showed them it was on the pamphlet, he couldn't dispute it.

I have 78k on my 02 RK and I bought the extend warranty in 02 with the bike and it can in handy, especially when I was on road trips. I got my moneys worth and then some.

I don't know anyone that can carry all the tools to do major repairs. Last spring I purchased another extend warranty for the RK.

I also brought it for with my 08 Ultra and in six months I put 16k on it, I'm sure after 30k I'll have problem like I did on my RK.

JMHO, if your going to do lot of road trips, the warranty is worth it, if just for the peace of mind, when on a trip.

??? How did you get an extended warranty on the '02? Is it an HD warranty?
