I had the same problem I took an old belt cut what I needed cut 2 slots on each side to lace my strap through had an old jacket with fleece liner in it cut it the same size and glued them together with 3M yellow car trim glue works great...dab a little grease at the slots so no glue sets up at that point...good luck.
