Default Air temp gage

Gooday:}
Yes its probably a stupid question but what does the air temp gage measure, its definatly not the outside temperature. Only 1200 miles on the bike and there are no dealers close to me in northern canada and bike is two weeks old. It was 34 when i left the house yesterday A.M. and the gage reads twice that. Later, Claire

Harley's air temp gauge is about as useful as screen doors on a submarine. The sensor is mounted in the fairing so any amount of sunlight will throw it off big time. That hole would be better filled with an oil pressure gauge or a compass.

There is no doubt that your engine needs to be replaced!

Just kidd'in
The temp sensor is inside the fairing. A completely useless waste of space. For about $150.00 you can replace it with a HD oil temp gauge....Hmmmm, do you suppose HD planned that?

Yeah, it's supposed to be but it's only accurate on a cold bike that is sitting in an enclosed building.

And I meant oil temp gauge with my other post, not oil pressure gauge.

The sensor is in the fairing. The thermometor is useless. Took mine off and added an oil temp guage. Much more useful.
