Rubber mounted versus rigid - sound off!

Another selling feature geared toward the rubber mounted A motors. Put down the softail B to boost the touring packages A. The dyno tells the real story, i believe 2 hp no more.

From 62 to 02 all my Harleys were rigid mounted, never thought anything about it.In 02 built my first rubber mounted machine RK,a truly neat idea.Even my hotrodded Harley is rubber mounted, probably will never go back.

My two current runners are a 93 hot rod softail and a 07 Road glide. I find the glide boring! My rigid mounted hot rod is my preferred mode of travel! It makes me feel alive. I like my feet bouncing around on the running boards! Of course i've been on HD's a long time so I'm kinda sentimental about the old school!

I've had both and to be perfectly honest the new harleys (rubber and solid) are so smooth I dont notice the vibration on either.....but then again I used to ride a shovel and then an evo sporty so they are my comparison......if you guys think these new bikes vibrate all I have to say is go take a shovelhead out for a ride....LOL

Appreciate all the feedback!
Thanks to all! As several posters said, it's really a matter of personal choice. Agreed, but when your test riding selections are limited it's good to hear from others before you commit serious $$ to the Beloved Motor Company.
Currently the Dyna is pretty well rigged for touring: Sundowner (fata$$) seat, mini apes, CB radio wired in, highways pegs mounted on the crash bar, and 500+ mile days were a breeze last summer riding from here to Milwaukee for the 105th with my luggage acting as a back rest. Love the Dyna, really I do, but am just wondering if the "bigger" (read: heavier) bikes are even more comfy on the long haul rides (and can carry more crap). Still need locking bags, but that's a financial thing, not performance/comfort.
One suggestion I had is to replace the Dyna front end with a Fat Boy or Heritage. Anyone done that?

My Lowrider will beat me up on a couple hundred mile rides. It's great for city riding and around town. My road glide is still funny to ride after 5 or 6 hundred miles. Plus it made with the bagges all ready.
