Its a cult thing and they give you a shirt when you buy a bike... that was reason enough for me!

My first bike was a Honda 305 Dream - red. I terrorized South Memphis.

The first dealer that I bought a HD from gave me a t-shirt. The second dealer that I bought from gave me TWO t's and a cap. Man, he has me hooked.

This thread started in 2004??? Wow. As to the question... I've owned four Harleys, first one bought in 1972, an XLCH. Most recent one, a 2009 Road King. First bike was a Honda 90, in 1969. Then a Honda 450, in 1971, right out of high school. Then the XLCH. A Kawasaki Z1R-T, a Shell Yamaha 750 flattracker, then got married. 19 years without a bike. Then I got a 2003 Road King. Sold it due to marital discord over purchase of the bike. Got divorced four years later. (wish I'd kept the bike). Bug bit again in 2009 and I bought a used 2006 Deluxe in April. Traded it in on the '09 FLHR in June. The tradition angle is big with me. I lost my dad in 1958, when I was 5. I have very few pictures of him, but one is of him in his Air Force khaki uniform sitting on a two toned Harley Knucklehead. Another I have is of me, at age three, sitting on another Harley he had. I think it's an old military surplus WWII bike, with a shifter lever on the left side of the gas tank. I guess I'm just takin' after my dad. That's good enough reason for me.

No, you're clueless on a Honda...but as my old Drill Sgt. used to say "Take the cotton out of your ears and stick it in your mouth and you might learn something."

Don't get me wrong, I love my harley, but I do love many other motorcycles. I especially like brit bikes of all sorts. My friend has a beautiful vintage Matchless I would love to have. Another friend rides a vintage Vincent 500, which I also love. I love motorcyles, including harley's. To each their own!
