EC Ultra and 6X10 Trailer
#21
I use a 5x10 cargo to tow my 08UC. Condor with steel backplate against front wall. 6-6k lbs D-rings with backplates in the floor and 6 BIG Daddy powertyes. The bike is solid as a rock inside and trailer is hardly noticed behind truck. Trailer has a 3500lbs axel and bike is 800lbs +. Not much to worry about.
Last trip was 2k miles and checked the bike at every stop. Straps never needed adjustment. Bike stayed solid for the whole trip. Love those Big Daddy powertyes.
For the tools who comment on trailering bikes, i do so because my wife is not interested in long trips on the bike and i am not interested in making trips without her. Her happiness is more important to me than my toys. I am one of those idiots who still loves his wife.

The tongue weight on a single axle trailer should be between 10% and 15% of total trailer weight. So if you bike weighs 850 lbs and the trailer is around 1200 lbs then tongue weight should be between 205lbs and 307 lbs. If you have some old bathroom scales and a piece of 2x4 you could check the tongue weight. With the trailer level put the 2x4 close to the hitch between it and the scale. With the bike on the trailer you will now know if the weight is in the normally accepted range.
