Thanks to all who offered help. We did get him in to a shop and the owner let him use tools and helped him tear it down. So far we found broken rings and scored cylinders. The shop owner has jugs and pistons for it but is trying to find rings. They are going to check the crank, cam and lifters in the morning. This guy at the shop is great, it is eagle Customs if anyone needs help in Crestview anytime. Not just any shop owner would be so helpfull. He said he tries to help anyone broken down far from home.

Good to hear. After I called you, I talked to my mech here in Pcola and he was not optimistic. I hope gets the rings and gets on the road soon.

this says alot about the folks on this forum. a fellow biker is having trouble and "strangers" are willing to help. most couldn't help with the drive but some offered time or advice... impressive in today's impersonal world.

IMFUO, "THIS" is how it's s'posed to be, and was. That's why we called it a "Brotherhood", NOT a "Riding Group" or an "Owners Group".
Jus' one of those things, that money, jus' can't buy, and NO WAY to put a value, on, 'cept "PRICELESS".
IF you are a 'fellow BIKER', and you're having trouble, we WON'T be 'strangers', very long. Strangers, are jus' ppl, we haven't taken the time to talk to, yet.

rlyons, THANX for the update, GLAD ya'll were able to locate the needed help. GOOD ON YA !!!!!
Any idea why the catastrophic failure?? Heat? Earl pump? Any word??

Great info for me to have as live in Lake City and head west often.. if you are ever headed east and have any problems will find Columbia County Cycles in Lake City, FL to be a Great indy just like one you are referring too.. I can't take them to NM but if need an extra wrench or even a go fer just let me know can be there in about 3 hours...

Why don't we start a list with contact information for anyone who gets stuck in our area. I have a truck, trailer and tools and am here if anyone needs help in the Monterey area of California.
