makes sense. but will changing your own oil screw up your warranty? just wondering.(and yes I am an idiot!)

First any question asked here is not stupid and doesn't make you an idiot so ask away. There are lots of really friendly folks here. Second, if you are mechanically inclined you can do your own service and it won't void your warranty as long as you document your work with receipts and mileage and follow the HD recommended intervals and use HD recommended parts & lubricants (or better).
