Best battery?
#22
I just had one of those and it died. I'm looking to try something different. The wally-world brand is supposedly either Gel or AGM - either way, it should get the job done, and walmart is 3 miles away, instead of 30 like the hd shop. battery is cheaper too.

Why do people spaz out so much about putting something into the ground that came out of the ground to begin with?

Look up East-Penn on the web or DEKA Batteries they are the source and the site will help you locate a DEKA dealer nearest you. Personally I would stay with the H-D or go with the DEKA, I have both, no difference, but you might save some coin on the DEKA. Why not leave the battery in the bike, using the pigtail on the battery for a charger just plug in the tender plus while the bike is the garage? But then, without busting your chops, before you decided to toss it around how else was it maintained?

I have a 2003 883r.It has 19,000 miles on it.And I live near Cleveland,Ohio. It has seen a lot of cold lonely days. And it still has the original battery. So I'm gonna say H-D batteriers are just great

It's been driven at least twice a week since I bought it, minus the week it was up for the new parts, and the week I was gone (on the tender for that). Never run low, always at least one run a week of over an hour. It's garage kept and always has been - garage is heated even, although not the best. Fired up every time till I came in from a sub-zero night and dashed upstairs first to thaw (hot shower++), and a friend that came in while I was upstairs and flipped it on per my request (checking to see if I'd turned over the 1000 mile mark) and forgot to turn it off.
