If it's on your 09, it should be under warranty.

I've had my battery for 3 years and still starts on the first hit of the starter.

I trust messing with warranty about as much as I trust the Chinese to make a good motorcycle part

Given that I'm responsible for discharging it though, I don't feel right requesting a warranty replacement of it - it worked fine till I left the stupid light on all night. It's my fault, I'll buy the replacement - I was just hoping to get a part better than OEM, since the OEM one sucked.

You would be making a mistake if you don't check into replacing it under warranty. If the battery will not hold a charge, it probably has a bad/dead cell. This is a defect and not caused by draining the battery down.

+1 It should recharge after 1 discharge. If you had done it 10 times it could be different. I would ask for it to be replaced.

yeah, except it's already been thrown around the shop a few times, and we're planning on taking it out to shoot it this evening.

If it wasn't dead before, it is now. I'll buy a replacement.

Looks like walmart may have a $60 motorcycle battery that should fit. I'm gonna grab that - it'll get me going again and be cheap when I have to replace it again in the future.

we've got a place set up for that kind of disposal

Serious though - It got chucked around, we discussed blowing it up, and it went in the trash. and now I'm just bumming around till I get up to heading out to get a replacement from walmart.

that one looks to have the right wattage and should fit, I think.
