Half Helmet Visor

Half Helmet Visor
I am thinking of using a Visor on my half helmet for long rides in summer rather than using my Modular full face, does anyone have experience with this set up, please advise

I use the visor on my non-DOT leather helmet, because it doesn't try to fly off my head at speed from the wind. My DOT half-helmet is an Outlaw and it's a 'mushroom' helmet...with the visor on it any speed over 30 and it's trying to pull my head off, so I don't use the visor on that one. My sunglasses and clear glasses both have foam rubber in them that helps keep the sunlight out of my eyes almost as good as a visor over them though.
I think you're just going to have to experiment with what you have or whatever you get.

I leave the visor on mine because it helps block the sun from my eyes.
No problem with it trying to rip the helmet off.
The best thing to do is to try it.

As said above, visors catch a lot of wind and don't work well at high speed. On the other hand, if you are referring to a snap on visor with a flip down face shield, they work fine.

I prefer the visor on for sun protection. I wear it low down over my forehead, and it works fine. Doesn't try to blow off with the windshield at the right height.

I occasionally miss the visor that I threw away on a ride after the helmet fell off my seat and broke the little tab that keeps it from moving up and down. But not enough to get a new one.

I ride with a visor on my 1/2 a lot and on the highway. It helps when the sun is really bad, but if you don't have the chinstap tight it will blow it toward the back of your head. If it's freeway riding at 70 or better, I just take it off and use dark gogles.
