I have the Harbor Freight one.

It's perfect for my Dyna. I put a 2' wide x 8' long piece of 1/2 plywood under it to keep it from sliding while I "dock" it. As the front wheel is entering the rear wheel is catching the plywood.

Being you are going to use the wheel dock for multi-purpose, I'd suggest going with Condor PSTK6400 if you have the coin. Use mine in the shed and in my trailer. Switch takes one minute as it uses a plate to mount to in the trailer. Supports the bike in the shed with no aids. Does not move forward (Your results may vary.)
Got the item on eBay and was shipped immediately.
I've hauled several H-D's with great results. No regrets spending the extra for a quality product.

Yes on the HF one. Wait for the sales. Sometimes it is $#10 off but every once in a while it is $20 off.

This chock works free standing in the garage for holding your bike upright without having to bolt it down and comes with the quick detachable hardware for mounting in a trailer for hauling your bike. Getting your bike into, and out of my chock is very easy as there is nothing to roll up and over. Another big plus is that you will not need straps on the front end compressing your springs as the front wheel is locked from behind with a patented process. The gas cylinder arrangement applies about 200 lb of force to the back of your front wheel holding it into the chock. We recommend using two straps only which are used to stabilize the bike from excessive side-to-side movement when trailering.

Wheeldock
Easy in, easy out. The only suggestion I have is the foot release, as it should be able to used on either side of the dock. This way if you use it in a garage for upright storage there would be easy access against any wall, right or left.
