Flashing brake lights

Flashing brake lights
Someone said they carried a copy of the DOT law for brake lights that have a flash sequence in case they get stopped. I had a Sheriff question mine today and I can't find the law. I knew him so it wasn't a problem. Does anyone have a link. Thanks

Back to the OP subject on Brake Lights;
I have never found anything specific under federal law that addresses flashing brake lights using the 3-5 flash modulators that we are talking about. This would be relevant if these modulators fell under the same federal regulation that applies to headlight modulators. SEE HERE
The opinion below from the state of Texas makes sense as if differentiates between the brake light modulators we are discussing and continuously flashing brake lights. Using these brake light modulators should be no more illegal than you tapping your brakes several times before applying continuous brake.

Michael,
The product you’re looking at should be fine since it’s not a constant flashing. I, personally, tap my rear brake 3-4 times before each (non-emergency) stop. Below is the information as related to different colored and/or flashing lights.
There’s nothing specific in the Texas Transportation Code (TRC) regarding adding extra lighting on motorcycles other than on any vehicle you can not have red visible from directly in front of the center of the vehicle or have red, white, or blue when it's a beacon, flashing or alternating light. See link to the TRC below, look at Chapter 547 which covers vehicle equipment. Section 305 of that chapter covers restrictions on use of lights in general and Section 801 has to do specifically with motorcycles.

I always manually flash my brake light, a few times, before stopping and also flash them, a few times, when I am at a stop and traffic is coming up behind me.

Bright Lights
I have the ride time 100 LED brake lights and I can tell you that the radiantz is brighter. But I also have fender tip brake lights and radiantz dog eye run/turn/brake lights so the whole package is VERY bright.
