New Rider Bike Suggestions

Road King....no question. You might as well get the best one right off the get go. You'd end up trading in for it later, and lose money. But then again, I'm partial to the RKC

The 883 Sportster will handle your weight and size no problem. I see folks around here riding 2 up on 883 machines all the time. However, I don't think the bike will be comfortable for you and I think longer rides will be a PITA, literally. I think you'll be much better off with a Softail.

GEt the Road King Classic and invest on the "Ride Like A Pro" DVD and learn how to handle a bigger bike. The 883 will too small for your frame the RKC will yield you better ride on highway and long distance.

Jesus guys, read. He specifically said "not a tourer". A soft tail is probably your best bet. They are comfortable bikes, with a low center of gravity. They look good too. The 883 would handle you fine, but stock it would not be comfortable for a long ride. The seat is pretty minimal.
