Default Dakota Digital Instruments

What are your guys impressions of the digital readout instruments?

I hate them in a car or in a boat and have always been an analog gauge type of guy. But for some reason I like them on bikes. The ones I saw with them at the Easy Rider show looked really cool.

I'm in the middle of some major changes on the bike right now and if I am going to go with these I need to order them right away.

Your feedack and opinion are appreciated. I would rather hear what people think about these now then after I spend the $$$.

Thank you

I find it much easier to read regular analog , much faster .................. even when digital is used in a few racecars/race bikes they usually read out in a layout similar to analog .......... just digital due to being run thru a computer system.

I prefer analog, seems the brain processes the information quicker without having to thing about numbers..
The Dakota digital gauges I saw looked very sharp, and would give the dash a more high tech look, especially if you could get a radio to match.
IMO just about everything about the stock radio screen sucks anyway.

Yes I agree with both of you on that point. The mind, at least my 51 year old mind processes analog better.

But they look really cool and I also like that you lose the worthless air temp gauge and get an oil temp readout which is more useful.

Personal taste aside, Dakota Digital does make a superb LED gauge. If you go that route you will be impressed with the quality.

Do they go black when powered down? I like their information center and a plus to me would be if it goes jet black when powered down so you can't tell what it is.

I think they are reserved for douche bag street rod painted the color of easter eggs and laden in billet everything, that's my .02.
Also heard that was "cause of death" with Boyd Coddington.

I find digital hard to read sometimes in different lighting.
