I don't know where the Armor All myth came from that it damages rubber but it doesn't. Personal experience trumps all internet myths. Does it mess up vinyl? No, it protects it and gives it a really nice look, but it does make it slippery if you don't wipe off the excess.
Has Armor All changed in the last 25 years (before there were internet myths)? Because that's how long it's been since I've used the crap. My tires turned brown and the interior of my car would turn chalky gray, if I didn't apply it weekly.

Armor-All is water based. That's what caused vinyl padded dashes to crack. It would soak into the vinyl, then evaporate in the sun and dry out the vinyl which would then stretch and crack.

It's okay to use dressing on the sides of tires. Did it for years. But don't use it on the tread, seat, grips, or footpegs!

Bad idea to slick up the tires. If you use a tire dressing of any kind on your tires---it would probably be a good idea to spray it on your seat also. That way when the bike slides out from under you ---your butt will not stick to the seat plus that extra slickness may lessen road rash if you manage to slide sitting down. JMO

The tread wears out before the side walls on my tires.

I use Delo 15-40.

P.S. It works pretty slick!

I've been using Zaino for the past nine years on my side walls of my bikes and cars:

Your search for great looking tires ends right here! http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...oduct_Count=17

For many years I have been dissatisfied with tire dressings available in the consumer market. Most are loaded with silicone oil, and those that aren't don't shine well. Plus, most of the products we've tested are very greasy, leave an oily and messy, attract dirt and dust like a magnet, and sling off the tire. Not to mention, have you ever seen a silicone oil-based dressing that has UV protection?

We created Zaino Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ to solve these problems once and for all. Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ is a non-oily, rubber and exterior vinyl finishing treatment. Our unique formula contains Ultra-Gard™ UV(40) and our exclusive moisturizing and antistatic solution to prevent drying, cracking and browning. Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ helps repels dust and dirt to keep your tires looking great, longer. One application of Z-16 Perfect Tire Gloss™ leaves an incredibly durable, water repellent, perfect looking satin finish, that's only slightly glossy and dry to the touch.

No ArmorAll for me! Too shiny and wet looking, it does not look natural.Besides it does nothing to prolong the aging.

Westley's Bleche Wite - Wal Mart. Been using it for decades on whitewalls and blackwalls - can't beat it.

Wet the tire, spray on product, wait one minute, brush lightly and rinse.

Whiter whites, blacker blacks, nothing slippery.
