Harley "new" image

Just 10 short years ago you couldn't get a Harley that didn't leak oil or would shake so bad anything that wasn't glued on would fall off. They have made these improvements and we have all accepted and enjoyed them. I'm sure the future will bring even better improvements.

If your a snowboarder and your checking out Harley's, sounds like your coming over to the "dark side". looks like those who ride the rockets are getting bored with them.,,

Its all called turnover. HD's thinkin ahead cuz us ol timers will soon be gone and todays kids will be in our place, they hafta keep turnin their product over, makin it more appealing to each age bracket.
As far as HD havin to compete with foreign bikes, and being worried, in todays business climate every manufacturer should be worrying. For the time being, HD and the Japsters, or other foreign bikes are not really competing all that much. Most foreign bikes actually are competing amongst themselves if you ask me.

I really don't think that Harley needs to market to small groups of people e.g. snowboarders, skaters.
I am 26 with my first Harley. It is a mistake to think that every younger person needs some radical marketing campaign to appeal to them. I don't skate or snowboard.
I guarantee there is a lot more people like me out there. Was in the Army, went to school, got a job and bought a bike because I wanted to ride alone and with my friends who all have similar lives and either own or want to own Harleys.
It is also incorrect that Harley needs to radically change their bikes to appeal to me. I like the classic look.
Here is a some wisdom for these marketing "geniuses":
This applies to myself and most guys my age that I know.
No X-Games. Football and Basketball.
No skating or snowboarding. Fishing. Hunting. Drinking. Pool. Poker. Golf.
No Euro *** clothes. Jeans and a T-Shirt.
Modern music sucks. Classic rock.
Just my .02

A harley is a harley... it don't pretend to be anything else but a harley...
Most of the speed freaks learn, if they live long enough, there is a place for that and it aint on the street...
I get harley.... I don't get a 140 mile an hour bike on the street... Thats just plain stupid...
