Default Do most Harley Dealers do this?

I purchased my first Harley, FLHR, about a month ago. First off they put me on another RK and told me to take a test ride (somethingno Honda dealer ever did for me). Then during the "dealing" phase I told them they were still $500 to high for me. I went in and saw the Sales Manager and thanked him for trying to work a deal but I was going to go home and discuss it with the wife. An older gentleman told me to take the bike home for the night. I was like Yeah Right, the gentleman told me he wasn't kidding and that he was the owner. Mama didn't raise no fool so I took it home. They took exact RK I was looking at off the floor filled it, and off I went with only 1 mile one to odometer. Is the normal kind of service I can expect from Harley Dealers?

What did the dealer say when questioned on this concern?

no that's not normal from what i've seen. sounds like really good people to deal with!!! i've seen my local harley shop let people take a bike for a test ride but only used bikes. don't think i've ever seen them let anyone test ride a new bike.

Hartley1998 it was defiantley added to my decision to purchase the RK now. I have wanted one for about three years now. But I would say the customer service definatly greased the wheels.

As for the test ride it was a FLHRC with a few hundred miles on it.

I don't think it's normal, but if you were only $500 away, the deal was done. You would ride it home, fall in love and concede. OR you would bring it back and he would make the $500 go away with some accessories etc.
Risk / Reward - he felt he had aces.

Every time we have our bike in for service, we are given a brand new demo biker to take out so we can go get dinner. We come back, and our bike is ready to go.

Thunder in the Valley, Mankato Mn is our dealer, and they will get our future business because of how they treat their customers.
