I would be surprised if some other hi perf. company didn't scoop them up.

With gas having been as high as $4.50/gallon, muscle cars are a shrinking market. Their single-fire HI-4 ignition disappointed me greatly, as my experiences showed them to be unreliable. I don't think the electronic venture helped them much.
They knew cams though........too bad really.

Nos and Turbos are the chicken **** ways to get quick power on cars without having to know anything about motors. I blame them as the days of the naturally asperated motor are dying fast...freakin nipper cars, air resource boards and such are killing hot rodding...the economy is partly to blame but over regulation and such are doing the most damage...the days of the wrench are gone...just program it, juice it and put stickers on it and you'll be a new age hot rodder...

That bites!! I remember, as someone earlier posted, building up the "old" cars with those puppies. Those were some good strong cams too!
RIP crane! I hope you become a phoenix!!!!

I guess I have to stop recommending Crane 10530 small block Chevy lifters as Twin Cam replacements....That's ok....I got mine. The rest of you can go get you some Chinese Chevy lifters from Autozone. I'm sure they are just as good....LOL.

Hate to hear this, maybe there is hope for the Hi-Pro industry but during these times I'm sure they aren't the only one's suffering. Hopefully others will be able to weather the storm.

Its more like another case of a solid company was bought out by another company only to be dismantled and sold off in bits and pieces. In this case it was. Mikronite, an industrial technology firm, bought Crane in 2006.
In March 2007, Mikronite sold its property on Fentress to STAG Capital Partners of Boston, then signed a 10-year lease.
