Thumbs down my boston hd rant

i signed up for the hd build a bike and have been e-mails from boston hd all the time. i asked for their best price and was quoted msrp plus dealer fees! after alot of back and forth i finally told them to go to this forum and see what other dealers are offering. i cant belive that they are trying to get somebody 2 hours from their dealership to come down and pay full price +! i can say after talking to them they are just looking for suckers and i am reallly not interested in their crap. but now that i know they have the exact bike i want im going to shop around and have the bike delivered to a much more friendly dealership unless somebody knows a different salesperson over there that is willing to deal. can somebody recommend a dealer around boston that treats potiental customers better and will swap bikes with them. seriously they have major attitude!!

thanx

Don't forget,Boston HD is part of Bruce Rossmeyers empire and thier attitude seems to be that if you don't buy it someone else will especially with riding season right around the corner. As you are in NH, why not try Granite State HD. I've only been there once while in the area but the staff treated us like royalty. They are on my short list of dealers to call if and when I'm ready to buy a new bike again.

im not really shopping for a bike now. i entered that contest and now boston has my e-mail adderess. granite state harley is a 1 1/2 hours from and they dont list their inventory on line. manchester and nashua hd have treated me well but they dont have the bike i want in stock. i hate shopping and i have plenty of time. i was just hoping that boston hd would give me a fair deal i would be done with it. i just bought a new suv for the family and im tired of haggeling with salespeople.seems like they are harder to deal with in this economy. i wonder if they cant afford to sell bikes at a discount?

Why not buy in tax-free NH?

A few years ago I was in Boston for my wife's college reunion. At that time Boston HD required a salesman to "escort" you on the sales floor with the bikes. You couldn't walk around the bikes without an escort.

I grabbed my wife out of the clothing department and departed. They have nice logo shirts, but I don't have one. They didn't get a dime of my money.

I bought my bike in '06 from Paramount HD in Framingham. They were pretty easy to deal with and with today's economy, you should be able to work something out.

I've never heard one positive comment about Boston HD either before Rossmeyer bought it of after.

Better yet, mark it as "spam" and you won't get anymore from them.

If you're not really shopping for a bike now, why would you banter with a dealer and waste their time and get yourself all bent out of shape?

Yeah, you really are getting bent out of shape for nothing. You're not ready to buy just yet, but you want to find a dealer that will get that particular bike from them and what? Hold it for you until you're ready? Chances are that bike will be in someone's garage when you are ready.

Just look over their next email closely. There should be a link to have your name removed from their mailing list.
