I ride with hi beams all the time, it's a matter of safety in my opinion. Cars don't know the difference. I do all I can to up my visibility while on the road.

What is the part number of the Silver Star bulb you use? Is it just a plug in type with no wiring changes?
Simple plug in change. I believe it's 9003ST(?) I can't remember, but will check. It's a motorcycle version of the standard bulb, supposed to handle vibration better.

Someone else may chime in with the correct # if I'm wrong

ORIGINAL: campdreamer47 I ride with low bean and passing lamps on all the time but someone here just said they rewired their lights so that they can use highbeam and their passing lamps....how you do that alazlo?
There is a thread in the DIY section that you can print out. It's a five minute job once you take the outer fairing off. Just a matter of moving one wire...

alazlo,
Where do i find this thread? Not sure what DIY is? To new to forum....but I want to seperate my passing beams from the high beam switch.

Thanks in advance

I am going to switch to high beams during the daylight hours. The headlight is the only light I have up front besides the signals. Been thinking about adding passing lights.
Has anyone installed the lights that clamp to the frame onto thedown tubes? I would think that that type would make the bike more visible in daylight traffic then the stock passing lights, due to the distance between lights. More of a triangle effect.
Tom
