Anyone Else Like Rat Bikes?

thanks electaRICK
I have been riding this same shovel rat for 34+ years so far. I've ridden (no trailer queen for me) in 48 states and 5 provinces of Canada, and still going. I've ridden coast to coast 5 times as of now, 4 years in a row on the National Veterans Awareness Ride to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC from my home state of Oregon. I have got a lot of travel stories and pictures on my web site www.ratbikemilo.com. I always figured that RATS were meant to be "ridden". Over 600,000 miles for me since 1975. Lots of engine rebuilds and quite a few other changes too. The 'stuff' on my bike comes as souveniers from people from all over the place. China, Egypt, New Zealand, Austrailia, Canada...... When people see me again they marvel at being able to find 'their' trinket, if it's still there that is. With my shovel and me, together we are able to put a lot of smiles on peoples faces where ever we go! If after talking to me and checking out my rat bike, a person still can't smile, well then it 'just ain't their day!". Thanks again for putting my bike up here, rat bike Milo

love them. My first Harley i got in 79' was a beat up old 74' FLH paid 500.00 for it and it still ran.almost broke my leg several times kickn that bike ... err trying to start it,... not kickin it cause i was mad at it for stranding me again out in the middle of nowhere ( ok maybe I did kick it a few times but I didn't mean it)..
I sold it in 86' to help with the outright purchase of my next bike .. a 86 FXR.. man I was in hog heaven when I got that new bike I thought........ then I started missing the old shovelhead real bad.. new bike didn't react the same. didn't sound the same. have the same feel or attitude..
It ran better and didn't break down..... at first.
I am afraid I don't have any pics.. unfortunaly we had a house fire and I lost everything , I had movies and pics .. the tv's and crap like that I didn't give a crap about but the pics and movies to me now would be priceless.
If you have pics and home movies.. get em copied and put in a safe storage .. facility. I speak from experiance on this.
