Mark, you never have said how your son feels about any of this. My son would dust them himself. That is not internet tough guy talk. That is a fact.

 

on the 18 year old kid i would get a steel pipe and start busting his face so he can feel just what your son felt.

 

I was in a similar situation a few years ago.

I was 19 and taking a walk with my friend around my neighbourhood at 10 pm. All of a sudden a car rolls up, 2 guys get out and rush us. We get into a fist fight and basically destroy them. Afterwards they got into the car and drove off. They came back again 5 minutes later and rushes us again, this time one had a huge champagne bottle in his hand. We managed to outrun them and by now were calling the police. To my dismay, by the time the cops got there, they came around a 3rd time this time with a metal pipe. I got hit in the back of the head with it. No major injuries or fractures, not even a concussion, but there was a lot of blood. The other guy was also rooting for his friend to hit me again and more.

Cops came, did nothing, even though we had the license plate. Later on they did nothing also. In the hospital I got 12 metal staples. No one was ever caught.

I find it amazing how you run a red light and get a ticket in the mail due to a snap of your license plate, but get assaulted and almost killed, and they can't find anyone.

If I could go back to that day again, 2 things I would of done.

1. Not be a nice guy and let them get away the first time, physically we were much stronger than them, I would of smashed them into pieces and pinned them till the cops came.

2. I should of sued the police department for mis handling a case and not doing any justice whatsoever.

 

an update

so is doing fine. the doctors are impressed on how fast he is healing. one actually said "you are healing so well that you make us look like we are good surgeons". but the doc also said it was a real tricky operation.

the police did a lot of interviewing. yesterday (wed feb 25th) they arrested the two brothers. the younger one - 16 yrs old - was arrested for aggravated battery as well as other things. here in illinois he will just get "points" and will probably not spend any time in detention. the older brother was arrested on misdemeanors.

so i am thinking that i will wait a bit, talk to a lawyer, and then so if i should bring up civil charges against them, their parents, and the family where the attack was made.

 

Have not read all of this but one thing I did was install cameras around the house, maybe a bit extreme but... Caught the little chit before I had them all up. Little punk and his friends were after my daughter. Real tough guy. She had friends incl a boyfriend that backed her up and or protected her but...

He then crashed his dads new truck while racing drunk. Slapped his mother got kicked out of the house. Still not in jail police won't do much because he is a minor.

Does not bother my kid any more though...Karma is a bitch.

My advice while all this is going on get a camera on your street and both your son and you carry one and use it. Just remember it is on. Works both ways.

 

Wait about a year and then when they least expect it crack their f***king heads with a pipe, better yet use a ball peen hammer.

 

Absolutely,positively press charges!

 

File a criminal complaint immediately.
Get a restraining order.
Request the school to expell both brothers.
Get an attorney and sue them and the homeowner into the next decade.

I'd leave it to the legal system, if for no other reason than you don't want more trouble for yourself. If however these kids continue their intimidating and reckless ways I am sure their are a few in your community and even on this board that would be happy to take care of it. These 2 kids need a seriously brutal wake-up call.
