This I don't buy for a hot second because that FI unit requires more voltage to function. I have bump started a damn near totally dead Harley which runs like crap until there is enough voltage to sustain itself. In contrast, I have had almost the same thing happen on a carbed bike and it ran fine once it was started with no apparent safety issues keeping me from leaving just after it was started. I wouldn't do that on an FI Harley because it ain't even ready for the road until that voltage does gets built up.

Mine has to warm up to run good, theirs does from cold starts. Their mileage is a little better.

Fi is the only way to go for my money (and it will be )

It gets into the teens around here and some of us still ride. If we stop it's so cold the bikes oil temperature as observed on the gauge units will drop and fast. If I do have to use the enrichner it's no big deal and the bike will fire right up just as the FI bike will. While others may chose to walk around putting on their coats and so on while the bike idles, I am riding down the road and they can catch up. If you have to fool with the enrichner or keep a hand on the throttle to keep it from dying then that carb isn't set up right.

Carb. Cheaper to buy, cheaper to use, cheaper to tune, when Harley had both, the carb'd bikes got better fuel mileage and made more power, no computer necessary, idle sounds better.
The ONLY advantage of FI is they run a little better at high elevations.

I perfer a carb to FI, much easier to work with an simpler to tune. When I have the cash together I will put a carb on mine 06 night train that is FI. I have a sportster with carb an starts just as easy.
