Spoke rims - Suggestions for cleaning?
Any suggestions on what to use on spoke rims to clean them (other then spending a lot of time scrubbing each one) ?? Any cleaners out there that you can spray on .. let sit ... and rinse off ?? "Thanks" !! :O)

Watch what you use. Some of the older (2003 and back) are cadium and the acid wheel cleaner will destroy the finish. Warm soapy water and a good brush will make quick work of the wheels.

To easily clean them one at a time wrap a thin piece of cloth around them.
Put a good coat of wax on them and they will stay clean and shiny longer. You probably only need to do this once a year.
Most washes you can just use your choice of soap and light brush and hose them off.

I use S-100 Wheel Cleaner. All you have to do is spray it on let it set and hose it off. It is a gel so it stays put and you can leave it on up to a couple of hours defending on how dirty they are. However the longest I have needed was about 5 min.. You can get it at most bike shops. Works really well not much effort.

In a similar vein, what's the best way or product one can use to clean the outer rim area (i.e. the part closest to and over the tire bead)? Mine have been corroded somewhat since I bought it from the previous owner. I've tried aluminum polish, which works somewhat, but not perfectly. A brush and detergents solution perhaps?
