Default Non-Motorcycle GPS Usage

Has anybody used an automotive GPS such as the Garmin Nuvi 760 on their bike? Any problems?

I know that the ZUMO is a great GPS specific for motocycle use but they are quite pricy. I won't be using a GPS in the rain.

Thanks

Yeah, there are a lot of us here that use auto GPS on our bikes. Mine is a Streetpilot c580. No problems, I just make sure it stays dry.

I know several that use the one from their car, just wouldn't get it wet.

The Zumo 450 is similar to the 550, but doesn't have blutooth or XM Radio.

It has been discontinued but is still available on Amazon for about $360 + shipping. It is vibration and water resistant like the 550.

Use a Garmin Quest on mine. Only problem is when I deviate from the route. Battery doesn't last real long when it has to recalculate. Found a hardwire kit and mount that I hope will cure that. Other than that I like it and it is compatible with the HOG road planner

Garmin Nuvi 350 here & it works fine. I added a hard wire in case the battery dies & it's stuffed & hidden under the tank.

I use a Nuvi 750 and the auto windshield mount stuck to my RK's windshield. I have a piece of parachute cord fastened to the windshield bag in case the mount lets go, but it never has.

Thanks all for your replies - I thought it might work. My only worry was vibration effects.
