Here is the advice I give about helmets:

1. To most resellers helmets are like underwear and bathing suits. Once you buy it you own it forever! Make sure you are in love with it

2. Never shop by size. I wear a HD helmet that is a M and a Scorpion that is a XXL. Different shapes and specs for different brands.

3. Never, in my opinion, buy online. Even if you tried one on at a store to know what size you need the one you buy online may not fit the same. Different runs or lots could mean different specs.

4. Once you find a helmet you are in love with as far as the fit and feel go leave the store and come back another time and try just that one helmet on for as long as you can while you are still on the store. After trying a bunch of helmets on my head hurts and I still feel like I have a helmet on my head even though I have none on (if you know what I mean).

 

The Scorpion helmets have quick detach shields.

 

My son wears a Simpson Street Bandit and has had no problems with it. Before that, he wore a Roof Boxer which looks cool but had issues with construction. I don't know anything about Craft but Simpson has always had a good reputation for their helmets.
