Wish I had a pic of this idea, but I don;t.
At rallies and events, ever notice how difficult it is to back into an open slot between parked bikes at a curb?
Well, one year at Sturgis (no...I no longer attend that mass gaggle of RUB trailering posers), I was walking along and noticed what I thought for sure was a scoot that had been bumped (accidentally or intentionall) and looked as though it was leaning to the right and against another scoot. It wasn't!
A guy on a Standard had jiffy stands on both the left AND right! We later saw that scoot someplace else, leaning left as usual/normal and again a day later leaning right.
When you think about it, it does make parking in crowded areas simpler and gives some options!
I have never seen another bike set up that way.

I have, and so did my ex-wife, both on a sporty though, but in both cases it was the tab welded to the frame that broke, not the kickstand its self, does that count? I had a friend that hit a frozen animal body 2 winters ago and he severly bent his kickstand on a FXR...
06deuce, there is defineltly something wrong with your kickstand or the bracket that is welded to your frame..Go to the dealer with it..But as stated before, if the lug on top of the Kickstand is into the recess for it, the bike should not fall over..I understand your frustration about this, but we can do nothing on here for you..just give advice..I think telling you to go to the dealer with it is good advice..
