They are a design HD bought from Armstrong (UK) built with a rotax ,old late 70's technology , oil in frame . Just want something I can do dirt on (not looking to run with the young ricer crowd.... just like my Ultra!) yet cruise up at HD gatherings where a huge majority had no clue they even existed.Something somewhat unique. And BTW they are somewhat indestructable! Also on my list is the Army diesel bikes (converted KLR's)

I ride my KLR on long day trips in the mountains, up and down fire roads/logging roads, some pretty gnarly. Or just out on some long, scenic dirt roads. Montana has zillions of them.

It's a blast. Whole different type of riding.

Not any more, use to ride Moto Cross, but find that I don’t heal as fast after 40 as I did when I was a kid. Gave it up for the Harley.

Yep,
kx250 here. i don't ride as often as i used to because there are very few legal places to ride in south florida. there is a tracks about 80 miles from me, but all the racers are there flying over my head and into each other. like someone already said, i don't heal as fast as i used to.
my buddies and i go to Croom every few months. 2600 acres of dirt bike trails. located in Brooksville fl. if you can get passed all the whoops, it is awesome riding.
i usualy ride with my helmet cam and catch some good riding.
i love the smell of 2 stroke in the morning !!

Our local dealer...Smoky Mountain H-D...had one of those on the floor last year...can't remember what they were askin for it tho.

As for dirt/trail ridin...me 'n my son tear it up on 4-wheelers 'round here...a pair of Kaw 250's. We hit a place called Windrock this past Sunday...see a li'l bit of everything up there...bikes, ATV's, jeeps, rock climbers, etc. It's been a rainy winter season here this year, so there was plenty of mud to play in...certainly makes hill climbin a bit more interestin.
