RE: Can't afford a Harley
I was 18, in 1958 makeing $78.00 a month in the US Navy..
I really don't care what you ride, I will wave at you and talk to you, But I have some food for thought here for you..Have you looked at the new Triumphs, the Bonniville america or the new Speedmaster??? pretty cheap, speedy is under 9 grand, and the America is under 8 grand. both come with 2 year warrentys...and back in the old days the triumphs were right up there with the Harleys it was Harleys, Indians, Triumphs and the BSA those were the top 4 in country..nothing wrong with rideing a Triumph, they got a really nice Bonnie Black for under 7 grand also, retro look back to the 60s with all new teck..check them out before you pop for a honda maybe..you may like what you see.

Wouldnt own anything else but a harley. I'm one of those A$$HOLES.......Jamie was refering to. I'd rather walk, then ride a jap or euro bike, but thats just the A$$HOLE in me. Got no problem what anyone else rides. They are all very nice bikes, and I am sure fun to ride but not for me. Nope......not for me. I went a few years without riding because I couldnt afford another Harley, and when I say afford, I mean, I didnt go into debt to buy one. Paid cash!
Save your $$ and wait....guareentee it will be worth it....

My neighbor was in the same situation....bought a VTX 1300, installed Bubs jughugger pipes, a windshield, Kuryacken highway bars, an K&N fileter and oval aircleaner...that thing looks damned near like a Sporty, sounds like an HD (almost) and is a sweet ride! We rode coast to coast last May and June and sapped scoots along the way (I ride an Unltra and a Hot RodmFXSTC)...if it came down to a good, reliable, roadworthy metric (because of cash), the VTX is no slouch at all and is a decently priced, nice riding and handling cruiser!

Not to worry, there is one in your future. It is just a question of when.
This may give you an idea how long some of us to get ours.
