Can't afford a Harley

RE: Can't afford a Harley
first harley at 28 years old, road king.
Owned a few metrics before that. But I do agree, riding anything is better than sitting on the couch. If money ever became a problem I would own a metric again. O' god I hope money is never a problem.

You want an HD? Then buy one. Get a used one and finance through your bank. Plenty of 'em with low miles out there. Don't sweat the askin' price; make a lowball offer, leaving yourself some wiggle room. If you have the heart, you'll find one.
First bike was an HD, second bike was an HD, present bike is an HD. 3 HD everyday riders in 34 years of riding. None of 'em were new.

Just go deliver pizzas for 6 months and stick all that cash in a jar. You will be surprised how much it ads up. My finance guy said that is what one guy did. He needed 2000 for a downpayment to get financed. The guy did it in 1 month!! 6 months and your bike is half way paid for.

RE: Can't afford a Harley
Right after I got my bike my bro-in-law got the bug but couldn't afford the HD he wanted and didn't want a smaller one. We ended up at Honda and he fell in love with the VTX1300, he is 23 I'm 41 and for some weird reason he isn't enamored by any Harley mystique. He got a cobra exhaust and it sounds real sweet now, we ride together as much as possible and both have shiit eating grins the whole time..but I still feel sorry for him lol..I just wanna cover up that white Honda lettering on the back of his seat.[:'(]

RE: Can't afford a Harley
I just got my first Harley last year at age 33(May '06). Before that I've been riding Honda's. When I started riding in 2002, even if I wanted a Sportster to start off with I couldn't get it due to the very high demand vs. supply at that time and everything was several thousand over MSRP.

How about the reason for his post... here, I'll quote it for you in case you can't read.
But wondering, how old were you before you accomplished the dream of owning a Harley?
