We had a thaw today and I saw one guy out on a V-Star.
Guy had to be a few bricks shy of a load there's so much ice still around.
I won't, can't get my bike out of my own driveway without a near certain crash.
Driveway is about 50' long and the last 15/20 feet are coated with at least 2" thick glare ice.
Then even if I got out there's nothing but wet salt all over any exposed pavement and getting back up the driveway to the garage might be nearly impossible. An FXSTC isn't a hell of a lot of good at going uphill on ice.
No thanks, I'll wait a bit for the ice and salt to get washed off the roads before I tempt fate.
Besides its only February and around here we have had big snow or ice storms as late as the end of April or early May.
So while I sympathize with all of you, I got the same 'urge' to ride you guys do. I'll take my time and wait it out rather than take foolish chances with a bike I can ill afford to wreck or ding up just because I got a little impatient waiting for spring to really get here.
But if its still nice out tomorrow I'm going to pull the bike out of the garage so I can get it hot enough to do another oil change.
I'll also be able to get my Harley sound "fix" that way.

Yep I agree ol Phil has gone off his rocker. Was near 70 yesterday. Spent the day working on my bro inlaws scoot ( it's a vulcan that's why we worked on it) and rode til almost dark. It was nice to not freeze and ride for a change.

I got out for a little bit yesterday.....near 50 degrees. Was a couple big puddles and last minute u-turns. Today its supposed to be near 60 but 25 mph winds and gusts to 40. Maybe the wind will dry up some of the puddles. I'm outta here at some point today.
