My dealer took my name and number and sent people interested in my make and model to me. I sold it and went straight to the dealer and bought a new one. Me, the dealer and the new owner all won.

Ride it for another year or two. Get more use from her. When it's got more miles on the clock and (shhh) a few scratches, then trade her in.

Believe it or not, there are people out there who will take that "deal" without hesitation. You're almost always better off selling it privately.

I went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago, (Pissed off my local dealer) thread. I was offered $9000 for my 06 RK Custom on a Road Glide. I walked and found a dealer that gave me $13,200 for my RK and I was happy with the deal!! Keep looking they are out there!

did you notice how many scooters they have there. info relayed to me was they are the only dealer in a certain area that is still showing a proffit? they are getting bikes from dealers that can't get rid of them and actually selling them. isn't it ashame these toys aren't worth what we think they are. kbb is 750 over what they offered you. low imho, but they always start that way.

I would think a good salesman would expect a counter proposal from an interested buyer. In other words, if he says $13K there are more options open to both of you other than "take it or leave it," Chance are he isn't going to come up a dramatic amount (if he did he was just lowballing), but I don't think $1,000 or so would be out of the question. I've always heard that the first years devaluation of a new vehicle is always the worst. Good luck.
