All the power to him ! Kinda gives one a little confidence in the motor company to see someone of mr Buffets caliber investing in them during such times.Perhaps he sees the motorcyle icon as having a good future ahead of it, perhaps as fuel prices keep fluctuating many folks will give another look at riding a motorcycle to free up a little money to spend on other things instead of pumping 18 gallons or more of fuel into their truck or car every week.

 

Warren is just a money guy.... one that prolly won't even be alive when the bonds mature .... 15% IS A GREAT BET on a old company that is STILL doing a 31% profit margin! And the guy at least does like american icons. But the company will still make a huge profit margin selling 50,000 bikes a year along with all the t shirt and triket crap!!!

 

I don't think he invested in Harley at all. He bought bonds from the Harley Financing arm. Harley owns this but I don't think it has much value. Especially if is issuing bonds and paying loan shark rates. The whole thing could fold in four years and Harley wouldn't care.

I sure as heck wouldn't buy bonds from someone desperate enough to pay 15% interest on them.

 

THe dude must be as rich as God. He just sunk almost $3 BILLION into the company I work for. Man must be nice ! ! ! !
