Default Throw Over Saddlebags

Does anyone have them? What are your thoughts? I am looking to get a cheap set of throw over bags. They don't need to be waterproof and I hate the idea of putting any hardware on the bike. Just want something thats quick on and off and leaves no hardware behind. Thanks for your help.

I recommend saddlebags with quick release fender strut mounts. Throw overs rub through the paint over time.

The wife has a set she uses when we go on road trips. They're on the smaller side...had em on her old Sporty and then put them on the Street Bob when she got that. They work pretty well...gives you space for stuff. Hers just throw over the rear seat and there are laces that you tie down the bottom with to keep them secure. Easy on, easy off. If you're putting them directly on a fender, get something to protect the paint!

Been using the throw-over style for years. Started with a "cheap" set, but then moved up to larger high quality bags with an internal frame. They are not quick on and off though. You have to secure the bags to your bag supports or they will float on you at speed. I use a u-bolt to secure them to my supports. I also have an axle roller that the bags ride on to keep them off the axle nut.

No need to worry about them rubbing on your fender - H-D makes a very inexpensive fender paint protector that is easily applied and removed.

Got mine from a local leather man operating as Ledoux Leathers - http://www.ledouxleather.com/ . His bags are totally custom and designed for specific models and schemes. My style was made specifically for softails and I have not seen anything better out there. You can see them in my sig pic.

You might want to try sources that create throwover bags for Sportbikes. There is usually a large selection availiable for those alternative machines.

I've got a friend that uses them on her Sporty. Easy enough to put on and take off so they're not rubbing off the paint.

Default bags

i have them on my bike. were like $100 at a harley dealer, but don't think they are made by harley. i love them. just the right size. they are in my pics. i put a piece of black felt under lace part. they buckle on to any part of bike you can buckle it to. i would reccommend them.
