Throw Over Saddlebags
#11
I got the $100 set of throw over bags two years ago. I use them for rain gear, baseball cap, tire patch kit and other small stuff.
If I use them at a rally, I tie wrap them so they don't "walk" off. On the FXSTC king/queen seat they do not need any support as the seat is tall enough and wide enough to hold them out from the bike. I do put tape on the chrome fender brace just in case.

The GF got me a set for Christmas from Leatherup.com. They fit pretty good, and I can fit a 12 pack of beer in one side & my other crap in the other. They have quick detach buckles to get iin the bag, and a quick zip off system so I can take the bags off the bike & leave the throw-over strap portion right under the seat. They have a hard backing that rest against the shock. I also have the HaulenAss backrest that mounts under the seat which keeps the throw-over portion off the fender/paint. I may still invest in some of that clear paint cover stuff though.

used to use them and had no real problem at all now I have easy brackets and still use the same bags bolted to the removeable bracket. easy on and easy off actually easier than thro over and tying down..

Back when I was into choppers and Superglides,I made a set of throw overs and loved them.Ended up putting them over fender under seats for a more permanent use.

My buddy had a set of these. We went on a road trip and the entire time they were flapping around in the wind, nailing his fender, paint, etc. I figured he'd done something wrong. I'd make sure the one's you're considering are able to become very secure once on the bike.
