I use the car wash all the time also. I'm just lazy and not into all the detailing. I have my bikes done professionally once or twice a year.

When I had my EGC I avoided the actual dash/instuments with the hose, a little water there is not big deal but i don't blast the instuments intentionally. That I did by hand with damp towel, etc. No sense in pushing your luck with high pressure water working it's way into the dash panel area or instruments.

I use high pressure washers and don't think a lot about it. One thing I would be careful of is washing and then having the bike in freezing temps. Remember that water going from fluid to solid state will expand and expansion generates tremendous force.

I never use high pressure washing as it can cause way too many problems that are very expensive to repair. Not worth it IMO.

Mine gets the hand washes at home, but if that's not possible and the bike needs cleaned, I'll use a car wash...hasn't hurt any of mine in over 40 years, just use a little common sense around the electronics...hell, I know a guy so ****, he only washes his bike with bottled distilled water, to avoid "contaminates" in tap water...yeah, his bike looks like new, and no, he doesn't ride much...he doesn't want to put much mileage on his "investment", might hurt the resale value...and besides, as he says "direct sun will fade the paint"...but he'll take any opportunity to tell you how great his bike looks...'course you have to go to his garage to see it...whatever...

What do you mean by high pressure? Got a little electric washer with 1300 psi. Never had a problem yet. 3600 psi would be. a little hard on any paint

If you have leather bags, take them off before you run the bike through the pressure wash. The water pressure is high enough that it'll cut through the leather. Been there...done that.
