After you bought your first harley, did it live up to the hype?

I bought my 1973 Super glide in 1975. Well I took it from a guy that was short on money he owed me. Funny thing was I didnt want it ,I was building high performace Hondas and thought the harley was a cement mixer. I rode it around the block the first 1/4 of the block I wanted to get off and push it back and the remainder of the block changed everything. It is hard to talk about how good it is but a ride is all I needed. I know have a 2002 Flh and put 9000 on last year and can't imagin not haveing one. I would like to add on a Super glide with about 120 cu in. Bye Don over and out>>>

I knew I would really enjoy getting my own Harley after renting them a couple times a year for three or four years, but I had no idea it would have exceeded my expectations as much as it has.
I have owned several bikes over the last thirty five years , and have loved them all, like friends, but the love I have for my Harley is more like the love I have for my kids...Of course I do love my kids more....most of the time

I'm thinking that some of you have really missed something... Not many of you have had the pleasure of kicking a Harley to life on a cold morning when your late for work.... My first was a '71 XLCH from the AMF era when dependability was not a selling point....
Now I own too many.... '94 FLSTC, '02 FLSTC and '07 FLHX

No
I think that a new motorcycle should idle when you buy it. I think the dealer could sell me the 5 dollar carb jet instead of trying to force the stage one on me for a bike that won't idle when brand new. I still have the bike and I like riding it but I will not buy another new harley because the dealers treat everyone like their stupid.
