I thought I have seen it all in this forum until I read this thread. Are you guys kidding me? It's bad enough that he posted it but he is getting care tips? WTF???? Next thing will be recipes for cosmos and decorating ideas.
I have a great cookie recipe......
As to care on a leather jacket. I use the edge of a credit card to scrape off bugs, or a wet paper towel. I've used mink oil maybe twice in the jackets 15 year life, but it's not as necessary as everyone wants you to believe.

an old cowboy told me to use neatsfoot oil on all my leather---saddle bags, seat, jacket, pants and shoes even seats in the car and truck---damn this thread is old
ride with it and leave it alone. I have had mine 10 years now. Saddle soap every couple of years when the bugs get too thick. Let it air dry then mink oil it. It gets character as it ages, dont sweat the little stuff like color fade and such a jet black baby soft pristine jacket just doesnt seem right!
I agree.
Let your leather jacket age naturally. It will develop its own character over the years just fine without slopping oils and greases all over it.
Just like us old bikers.
