We did 5500 in just under two weeks last year.
We left Dallas, visited Grand Canyon, Laughlin, over to San Jose, San Francisco, Up 101 through the Red Wood forest, up the Oregon coast in to Wa, over to Mt St Hellen, back down through eastern Oregon, Idaho, Utah (Moab etc), across southern Colorado and back to Dallas.
It looks like we'll eclipse that distance this year on our trip to Billings for the National HOG Rally, but no way we'll get close to Terry's 6900!!!
Anyone ever done the ride around Lake Michigan? When were were in Milwaukee for the 2003 Ride Home, it was suggested that we do that. If you have any suggestions and/or recommendations, I like to hear them. We are considering doing that on our way home from Billings (to Dallas?). It's only miles.... and that's what we LOVE!

RE: longest motorcycle trip
I had an old 72 Sporty for about 15 years. My first Harley. I had other bikes during the
same time frame (a lot) but I always held on to that sporty. Well, she just plain
wore out, the poor girl, and I had to pass her on. Well sir, the
6 mile ride to her new home was the longest ride I ever took.

RE: longest motorcycle trip
I did a 7,000 mile trip a few years ago (Honda ST1100). Went from East Tenn to Calif and up the coast to Oregon then back across thru Yellowstone, Black Hills and home. In 04 I did 5,000 miles up to Novia Scotia, Newfoundland and Labador. I've done the Keys twice but at only 2500 miles or so it seems like a short trip now.

RE: longest motorcycle trip
In 2003 wife and I went to Milwaulkee for the 100th Anniversary, and then left and went to Nashville, Natchez, Miss., New Orleans, Houston, and back home. It was about 5,500 miles in a couple of weeks. We also went to the 95th Anniversary, but didn't do as many miles that trip.

RE: longest motorcycle trip
290 miles from Manteca to Monterey I know it not that long but I just start riding street bike. This summer I'm planning a trip to LA and Reno.
