Hello to all. I recently found the Harley that I want but I have yet to find an institution to finance a used bike. Does any one have a good company in mind that they have used or maybe that a friend has used? I appreciate all the help in advance, thanks.

 

Any Harley dealer will finance a used bike, i think they charge a flat rate of like $500.

 

How does that work if it's a private owner selling the bike, and not a dealership?

There's a couple of dealers in St. Louis that advertise for $600 they will handle all aspects of buying a used Harley. I haven't done it, but I'd assume you and the person you're buying it from go to the dealership and after you're approved, the seller gives the dealer the title and the dealer does all the paperwork. Then the seller gets a check.

 

Most credit unions will also finance used bikes. Check the ones in your area.

 

So will banks. You just have to meet the down payment and credit requirements.

Why pay a dealer a bunch of money to do it? You'd also get a much better interest rate from a bank or S&L.

If you have a checking/savings acct, go to your bank and they will work with you. You will have to show some form of collateral (cars, house, etc...) or simply have great credit as well as work pay stubs.
