I ride a harley and have since 1982. I have never worn anything but a full face helmet. Fortunately I have never needed the protection. I am thankful. The people on this board sure as H3LL spend a lot of time worrying about what other riders wear when they ride. sometimes I wonder if it is a bunch of fashion conscious women on this board, but it is my favorite.

Because they are out there acting a fool driving like idiots. They know the cops can't catch them but they can identify a face to arrest them later.

I own a 3/4, two 1/2 helmets and one full-face. I wear whatever suits the temperature and my mood. The h#ll with looking 'cool'. BTW, I've seen the president of our local 81 wearing a full-face, and I'm NOT gonna be the one to tell him he looks like a 'dork'.

Here's what I wear on every ride:

It's safe -- and you can see it from space!

Thumbs up What else?

The last time I wore anything but a full face was about 1988, driving my old (still have it) Yamaha Seca.
I believe in full face.
One night, riding 2 up with the wife on the Yammy, terribly rainy evening, and going through the Deas tunnel the thing fogged up, totally. At 60 mph I couldn't get the snap-on face shield off to see.
Somewhere, in an alternate universe, we died that night.
I went out the next day and got a full-face, and I've used one ever since.
It's a bit of a pain on my Softail with the sport windshield since @ 60+ mph (100 kph) it throws the plastic shield back on the hinges and snaps my head back.
But I'm alive.

Helmets............What a quaint idea.
I need to get out of Arkansas and Oklahoma more often.

I wear whatever fits the ride. I prefer none but have found that a helmet has it's place. Ridin all year round gives truth to that in my book.

As I go to Sturgis and other rallies each year, I notice the percentage of helmets on HD riders going up each year. Last year leaving the J&P open house more than 50% of HD riders wore helmets and a good chunk were full face.

I and my sons wear full faced helmets and have for years.

I wear one to protect my jaw because I use that to eat. Eating is the second most important thing that I do.
