Default Helmet Brands

Just wondering on opinion of which brand of helmet. I am needing to get one for both me and the wife, but I don't have a clue which brand to go with or if it really makes that much of a difference. I have never worn one, but I have noticed trying them on they all seem to fit very different. My wife has the one picked out that she wants, it's made by KBC. I am going plain black so I don't care. Just wanting some different opinions, BTW we are looking for 1/2 helmets.

I prefer Arai. Shoei is very good as is KBC and Harley.

Go with best quality you can afford(DOT and Snell). Try on the same model from different manufactures because the shape will fit different.

Best to you and your wife ride safe ride hard.

+1 DEFINITELY try them on first. I currently wear an XXL HJC helmet. I wanted a Shoei but their XXXL models wouldn't fit my head. All helmet manufacturers have different sizing standards so try them on before you buy one.

I got a Daytona beanie helmet for Christmas, that thing is awesome. They advertise that its the smallest DOT approved helmet. I love the thing, you can barely tell you have it on.

You and your wife need to go try em on. If they aren't comfortable you ain't gonna get much use out of it. Try it, if it fits good in the store, it'll fit good while riding. Don't let em tell you they stretch either. Make sure it fits from the git go....

Scorpion 1/2 helmet. Have had several over the years and my wife and I both love this helmet. Gotta try them all on - they are ALL different.

The Scorpion comes with a flip down (hidden in the helmet) 1/2 shield, removable winter ear muffs and neck roll.

good luck,

+1 for try it on. I ended up with a XXL vega 1/2 helmet and was a M and L in other brands that I tried on but didn't like the style.
