Hang tight brother. The scoot can be fixed. At least you are here and able to relate the story to us. Take care of yourself, you'll be back in the saddle soon. Good Luck

Hey guys, thanks so much for the supporting words. And without sounding like a total wimp, (I'm just really emotional right now and plus the meds) THIS is what owning a Harley is all about. The help and support that just about every rider gives to another rider.

I'm not saying this doesn't happen with metic bikes, but Harley owners just seem to have a little something extra when it come to "family".

Damm I about to get a a tear in my eye!

Thanks again for all the support. And as crazy as it sound, I can't wait to get healed and get the bike fixed and back out on the road. My dad taught me to never give up.

When I was 10 he bought my brother and me each a dirt bike. We lived on 2 1/2 acres and were riding around the property all day. Well I was the first to crash. Wind blew a large gate closed just as I was approaching and my handlebar hit the post. No damage to the bike or me but I didn't want to get back on that thing again. Well my dad was pretty good with us kids and finally convinced me to try again. As I look back I have to thank him for always giving us kids the time and support we needed.

Glad you're on the mend. The old saying goes there's two kind of riders: those that have gone down and those that will. You got yours over with now and are able to type about it!

Wow - I am glad to hear you are going to be ok and your injuries were not worse. Your bike - that can be fixed. Just glad to hear you are ok. Stupid people on the road. Is it just me - but I watch my mirrors so much that I can spot a Motorcyclist a mile behind me. I use extra caution then. Hope your feeling better soon. I am sure you felt like someone beat you up - but - thats what the pain pills are for .

Prayers for you - and hugs,
Loretta

So sorry to hear about this but so happy to hear you're alive and will ride again soon enough.

I can attest to how fast and "out of the blue" accidents can happen. You never know when it's gonna be your time. I got taken out by a hit n run driver who rear-ended me at 85-90 mph in November and the helmet saved my life for sure - landed on the back of my head on the freeway at 65 mph and walked away with just some minor road rash in one spot. The impact was so violent I had no idea what happened to me - a witness who saw it stopped to help me and told me what happened.

Keep us posted on your progress...

Holy crap bro, your lucky as hell. I know exactly what your going through. Last December I broke my pelvis in a NASTY wreck, Night train vs. some dumb biotch in her SUV. The point before impact is probobly the biggest adrenaline rush I have ever felt in my life (been chasing that feeling ever since.)

At least you had so many helpful people there. When I wrecked everyone just stared at me, my buddies wife who was 100 yards away in a store was actually the first one to call 911. Since I was fearing spinal damage I didnt move or make a sound, so one guy actually grabbed a blanket and started drapping it over me and my head like I was dead. I remember saying "hey a$$hole im still here". He didnt even check my pulse before he did it.

I wish you a speedy recovery and hope you stick with riding, it crossed my mind to give it up but I am glad I stayed with it everytime I twist the throttle. Hang it there bro, pills fix dang near anything. "If you dont limp you aint $hit"

All the best
