vest extenders for buton up vests?

For a button vest, I'd have a seamstress make up a few extenders, put a harley PIN in the middle or over the button area, gotta be cheap enough to do, Give it some thought.

Buy a bigger vest. Those extenders look kinda goofy to me.
If you do have to get some though here's a few I found by googling.

Actually one of the main reasons for wearing the 'extenders' on vests is to make them more comfortable in the hotter summer months.
If you are wearing a leather vest (with MC back patch or whatever) you get very warm in hot weather if they are snapped closed. If you leave them open in the front they flap around in the wind.
The extenders allow them to open a few inches in the front, depending on the extender length, and this allows air to circulate inside. The vest is still held together so it doesn't flap around, but that air circulating between your body and the vest makes a world of difference.

Ok but they still look goofy to me. I wear a denim vest like Schu is talking about and if you get one the right size you can button it up and still stay fairly cool without the need for extenders.
Now I wouldn't mind an extender for the button on my jeans as sometimes I eat too much or get bad gas and wish my pants were a little larger. They would be excellent for letting cool air in too. Hmmm I'll have to google for that...
